Meet the Team

Mohamed Raiki Al Balushi

Mohamed Raiki Al-Balushi, is a seasoned professional with over 38 years of experience in Drilling & Well Intervention Management. He holds multiple academic qualifications, including an ASC in Petroleum Drilling from Roswell University and Business Management Diplomas from Bromsgrove and Blackburn Colleges in the UK. Mr. Al-Balushi specializes in Senior Well Engineering Management, with a strong focus on staff training, HSE compliance, and risk management. His expertise extends to General Administration, Business Improvement, and Production Growth Engineering. Fluent in multiple languages including English, Arabic, and Balushi, he continually invests in professional development and harbors diverse interests like following oil and gas market trends and marine voyaging. References are available from prominent figures in the Petroleum industry in Oman.

Christian Koepchen

Christian Koepchen, skilled in managing PDO’s Wells Business Control Documents, led Functional Capability and Organisational Reviews at PDO, including job evaluations. He coordinated Process Health Checks, audit preparations, and enhanced the Management of Change process in PDO’s Well Engineering Directorate, extending to Petroleum Engineering and contractors. Christian significantly contributed to reviewing Oman’s Oil and Gas Regulations for Wells, motivated staff, and coached young Omanis for presentations. He developed a Knowledge and Information Management roadmap, emphasizing process automation and knowledge management, and produced HSE and Business Improvement videos.

In September 2023, Christian joined Matrix Oil and Gas Consultancy as Managing Partner and Senior Consultant.

The company sets industry standards in product manufacturing and equipment service, and inspects drilling equipment, a service comprising 70% of its business. Additionally, it conducts equipment failure investigations and offers drillstring design services. Post-2002, Fearnley Group expanded to include accreditation services, taking over NS Standards from Shell to certify unlisted equipment suppliers.

Kinda Yasser

Kinda Yasser brings a dynamic approach to the oil and gas industry, transforming production with her dedication to optimization and efficiency. Her deep expertise in pinpointing production bottlenecks and implementing targeted restoration plans consistently boosts production profiles across field operations. With extensive experience in Well Reservoir and Facilities Management (WRFM) for Brown Fields, Kinda excels at extending the life and productivity of mature fields through meticulous management and revitalization strategies. Additionally, she is skilled in developing integrated Field Development Plans (FDPs), demonstrating her ability to orchestrate the optimal development strategy for an oil or gas field.

Her hands-on approach spans the entire well development lifecycle, from strategic planning and cost-effective completions to optimizing artificial lift systems and maintaining rigorous corrosion control. Safety and efficiency are at the core of Kinda’s work. She seamlessly integrates industry-leading software with Lean methodologies to streamline processes. Going beyond technical excellence, Kinda shows a deep commitment to mentoring and developing the next generation of Omani talent, ensuring that teams grow in capability as they unlock greater production potential.

Steve Nas

Steve Nas champions innovative approaches to maximize well performance and asset longevity. A highly experienced well engineer with a proven track record in complex well scenarios and a dedication to safe, optimized operations, he consistently delivers results.

A deep understanding of drilling, completions, and well integrity underpins his success. This expertise shines brightest when tackling demanding challenges, spanning HPHT reservoirs, underbalanced/managed pressure drilling, and intricate well control situations. Now, Steve leverages this knowledge base to advance sustainable solutions within storage for CO2, natural gas, and hydrogen.

His impact stretches beyond technical execution. Steve excels in strategic well design for underground storage projects and plays a crucial role in abandoning legacy wells, ensuring compliance with rigorous environmental standards.

Recognized as a dedicated knowledge-sharer, Steve inspires the next generation of well engineers. His contributions—as an instructor, author, distinguished lecturer, and active industry-group member—leave a lasting influence on the oil and gas industry.

We offer consultancy services for a variety of management systems, including quality management, environmental management, occupational health and safety, and energy management systems.

We take a tailored approach to each client’s needs, analyzing their specific goals, challenges, and operations to develop a customized plan of action. We work closely with our clients to ensure that our solutions are effective and aligned with their objectives.

When discussing our fees with clients, we typically explain that our standard rate is USD 187.5 or OMR 72 per hour. However, we also understand that each client and project is unique and we are willing to consider negotiation on a case-by-case basis.

In certain cases, we may be able to offer a reduced fee if a success fee is included in the agreement. This means that if we are successful in achieving a positive outcome for the client, we would receive an additional fee.

Ultimately, our goal is to work collaboratively with our clients to ensure that our services provide the greatest possible value while remaining fair and reasonable for both parties. We are always open to discussing different fee structures and options to find the best approach for each unique situation.
